Elio Sorella, B.Com.

Executive Chairman of the Board

  • Elio Sorella is Executive Chairman of Ecolomondo’s Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer and majority shareholder of the Company. He has been the Chief Executive Officer of Futurplast Extrusions for the last 24 years and has been the Chief Executive Officer of the Sorella Group of Companies since 1995. Mr. Sorella founded his first company nearly 45 years ago. Since then, he has started, acquired and managed successful companies in many diversified fields such as clothing, cosmetics, transportation and more recently, in plastics, real-estate and private equity.

Jean Francois Labbé, M.B.A., LL.M.

  • Jean Francois Labbé joined Ecolomondo in 2014. Mr. Labbé is an experienced executive officer and strategic manager with over 20 years experience in entrepreneurial and international environments. Mr. Labbé is the Founding President of Recycor, a former leading Canadian scrap tire recycler. Mr. Labbé has strategy consulting experience from PriceWaterhouseCoopers, SECOR Group (Acquired by KPMG) and Balanced Scorecard Collaborative (Acquired by Palladium). Mr. Labbé holds a M.B.A. and LL.M.

Donald Prinsky, CPA, CA.

Chief Financial Officer

  • Donald Prinsky joined Ecolomondo as Chief Financial Officer in 2010. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant, a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Quebec Order of Chartered Professional Accountants since 1971. Mr. Prinsky has over 40 years of experience in the financial consulting, general accounting and finance fields. From 1969 to 2004, he worked as a chartered accountant at RSM Richter where he became a partner in 1979. For over 35 years he provided audit and consulting services to a wide range of industries. Mr. Prinsky serves as a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Audit Committee at the Douglas Institute, a leading teaching hospital affiliated with McGill University. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors at an Eldercare Centre.

Corporate Strategist, Compliance and Marketing Expert

  • Holds a bachelor’s of law at the Universidad Iberoamericana and an MBA at Université du Québec à Montréal. Experienced lawyer and a certified auditor in various sectors. Specialist in the oil and gas industry and has worked for over 10 years in the natural gas sector.

  • Certifications include: ISO, Project Management Institute and Center of Sustainability and Excellence, risk management for the Ministry of Industry and Commerce for Fuel stations.

Donald Prinsky, CPA, CA
  • Donald Prinsky joined Ecolomondo as Chief Financial Officer in 2008. Mr. Prinsky is primarily responsible for financial planning, consulting, as well as financial reporting to higher management. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant, a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Quebec Order of Chartered Professional Accountants since 1971. Prior to joining Ecolomondo, Mr. Prinsky had a consulting company that provided management, financial and other related consulting services to the corporate private sector. From 1969 to 2004, he worked as a chartered accountant at RSM Richter where he became a partner in 1979. For over 35 years he provided audit and consulting services to a wide range of industries. Mr. Prinsky is very involved in his community, serving as a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Audit Committee at the Douglas Institute, a leading teaching hospital affiliated with McGill University. Mathieu Couillard
  • Mathieu Couillard is a capital market consultant. He advises management and boards of directors, has participated in over $1B in capital raises for private and public companies and is the architect of numerous mergers and acquisitions. From 2016 to 2022, he was Managing Director of investment banking at Haywood Securities, in Toronto. From 2006 to 2014, he worked at National Bank of Canada, in the Risk Management Solutions group, specializing in the sales and structuring of derivative products, in Toronto, and in the investment banking group, in Montreal. Mr. Couillard is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.

Michael Frankel, BSc., FCPA, ICD.D
  • Michael Frankel is an experienced business advisor and consultant. He was a partner for 35 years with Richter LLP, a large business and family office advisory firm. His experience includes a wide range of companies, both private and public, in multiple industry sectors. His expertise covers strategic planning, acquisitions and divestitures, financing and refinancing, international expansion and succession planning.

    Michael has served over the last 40 years on numerous local, national, and international not-for-profit boards, including the Federation CJA, the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation and the Jewish Community Foundation of Montreal. He has been the Chairman of the Bronfman Jewish Education Council and of the Quebec Israel Committee and Jewish Federations Canada – UIA. He currently serves on the board of Jewish Federations of North America and the Jewish Agency for Israel, as well as Chairman of the audit committee of Baron de Hirsch Cemetery and the YM-YWHA of Montreal. Michael was also a member of the Audit and Assurance Standards Board (AASB) from 2013 to 2018.

Honourable Christian Paradis, P.C., LL.B.
  • Called to the Quebec Bar in 1997, the Honourable Christian Paradis was elected Member of Parliament from 2006 to 2015. Appointed to cabinet in 2008, he has notably served as Minister of Industry and Natural Resources. He previously practiced law, specializing in corporate law. Following his public involvement, he was Senior Vice President, Strategic Development at multinational security firm GardaWorld. He is currently consultant and president of Paradis Solutions & Associates, a business development firm he founded. A graduate of Université de Sherbrooke in civil law and Université Laval in corporate law, he is a member of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada and recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2012).

Lynn Côté, BSc, MBA
  • Lynn Côté had an extensive 30 + career at Export Development Canada (EDC) in various roles including 12 years as part of EDC’s Cleantech Team as the National Lead Cleantech and Market Intelligence. She currently runs Côté Cleantech Consulting, a cleantech consulting company. She has deep knowledge of finance, investments and international trade specializing in the cleantech ecosystems and companies. She has been a member of the board at L’Arche Ottawa and CCC 165. She is a volunteer with Ten Yad Ottawa and participates yearly in The Shoebox Project for Women. She completed her BSc at Concordia University in Montréal and her MBA, Energy & Sustainability at the University of Cumbria in the UK.

Frank Kelly
  • Mr. Kelly is a retired banking leader with over 32 years experience in the financing industry. Mr. Kelly, a Fellow in the Institute of Canadian Bankers, was a Project Finance Director in different industry groups within Export Development Canada (“EDC”), including being instrumental in EDC’s business development in the Middle East (GCC) Region, and previously a senior commercial/corporate lending banker with the TD Bank.

Mrs. Laberge, CPA
  • Mrs. Laberge, CPA joins the Company’s Board of Directors with a strong experience in financing and accounting. A chartered professional accountant with more than 20 years of experience, she is specialized in certification mandates and acts as CFO for multiple public and private companies. She has been involved in numerous acquisitions, reverse takeovers and financing for small cap companies. She holds an accounting degree from UQAM (Université du Québec à Montréal).
